Today’s #GoodGuysPrevail Update…

Posted by Johnny Lee on February 27, 2020

Today’s update is admittedly a geeky one. The good folks at the Mozilla project have embedded a non-trivial improvement into the #Firefox browser. Users of this browser will now have their “name resolutions” (i.e., the on-the-fly correlation of human-friendly website addresses to computer-friendly numeric machine addresses) performed via encrypted channels.

Yes, I recognize how dorky I sound, but this is a big deal. Why? Because this will establish a trend that will be incorporated into all web #browsers over time, thereby removing a decades-old attack vector for bad actors and improving the security of end users across the globe. Kudos Mozilla!
